| By the time our other two children got braces we had transferred to a
dental insurance that covered orthodontics. Under that plan we had to
pay a substantial downpayment (approximately 1/3 of the total amount we
were to pay) and then were allowed to pay the remainder off in monthly
payments over one year. Additionally, we had to pay a small co-payment
each time they had an appointment. On our first child done under insurance,
our cost was around $1700 plus monthly co-payments that began at $4 each
and increased to $8 over 3 years. On our second child done under
insurance, the cost had risen, and our portion was $2200 plus the
monthly co-payments. (They both were class two malocclusions.) |

| My teenage cousin is coming to your country, Australia to study. She may
wear braces here. I am wondering how much does it costs (average) for a
permanent (2-3 years) orthodontic braces in Sydney? Can anyone here help?
